The first project under the S2MARTS Research OTA, the Department of the
Navy (DoN) is funding research (utilizing 10 U.S.C. 4021 Authority) to expand
its capability to design, process, characterize, and test materials for research
and development. One material of interest for this research effort is boron
nitride nanotubes.

Rad-Hard ASIC Platform Enablement and Processor Storefront Model

In order to support future DoD strategic satellite and missile system programs, the
availability of and access to Qualified Manufacturers List (QML)-qualified radiationhardened microelectronics technology must be ensured, requiring the planning
and implementation of a storefront capability for multiple sources of State-OfThe-Art (SOTA) Rad-Hard By Design Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC)
platforms and advanced processors.
This project will develop and implement a model for the productization and QMLqualification of an RHBD ASIC platform and a rad-hard processor. An exemplary
storefront capability will be established to ensure the long-term availability and
support for DoD space and missile system applications.
