OTA
delivered
exceptional results for the DoD
alongside sponsor Naval Surface
Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC
Crane) in 2024. Programs like MACHTB 2.0 and Microelectronics Commons
showcased S2MARTS’ unique ability to
leverage OTA authorities to address
complex challenges in hypersonics,
microelectronics, and other DoDcritical domains.
In 2024, the S2MARTS team further
solidified its partnerships, hosted
strategic events, and put large projects
through to award, allowing S2MARTS to
surpass $3 billion in DoD funding.

New Project
Awards in 2024
In 2024, the S2MARTS OTA continued to provide a flexible environment
to bring the nation’s best innovators to meet DoD and Navy critical
technology needs. Projects in microelectronics awarded through
S2MARTS in 2024 are bolstering the nation’s ability to integrate state-ofthe-art microelectronics in DoD systems. The OTA’s hypersonics projects
are ensuring that we can reduce the costs, increase the industrial
capability of hypersonic weapons, and establish a rapid design, build,
test, and learn pace. Additionally, S2MARTS’ electronic warfare (EW)
projects have ensured that the DoD EW systems are sustainable and
meet the future warfighting challenges in this domain.
